Re: Topaz signature tablet
Jimmy, Thanks but we have to use the Topaz tablet because the client's requirement is that the signature animate itself with music and that the user can also sign from right to left as they do in other countries. Oh and I agree, we only want nice gifs. Bad gifs are bad. Before saving, the tablet has...

Once Again Full Circle - Happy Birthday
Roger, Once again you have proved me right. For years I've been saying you are a person who works and gives from your heart, carries other people's burdens and always lends a hand. This past year is no exception; as a matter of fact it's more so than usual. The last several months have been very cha...

Re: My Review of High West Whiskey
Just a little clarification. The Greek wine that Roger drank in Queens was at a Greek tavern that served excellent food. The wine in question was actually Greek Retsina and despite my strong advice to not drink it since I knew it wasn't good, Roger was adventurous. At least it left him with a memora...

Re: Updating file issues
Hi Eugene, You are correct that there is a file size limit. But just for informational purposes, ADS does not have a limit. We had at one time a 32gig file size with no appreciable performance issues. Roger has since scaled it back to a manageable 12 gigs. But without ADS I don't think it's possible...

Re: Updating file issues
Fred, I had Bob switch to ADS and the problem went away. If that's not possible, since this is part of a batch post, you could try putting in a Sleep() every few records. This way you aren't pushing appends or changes too fast. At certain clients we support, we have found that it isn't always a serv...

Roger,
I always knew you had a dark side.

Re: 20 years since 9/11/2001
Roger, Well said; I remember those days and that one in particular. Getting through those dark days and all others is bearable with good friendships and family. I miss Michael and still mourn him but that's tempered by the friendships I still enjoy. The truth is while our world erodes or cycles thro...

Re: Round() slow down calculations
Hi Victorio,
I enjoy optimizing my applications where ever I can.
If you use
a=1
b=3
SET FIXED OFF
Round(a/b, 2 )
your result should be 0.33
Are you saying you get a different outcome?

It's that time - Happy Birthday
Roger, We were both hoping that when 2020 was over we would put a bad year behind us. It seems that we're going to have to put most, if not all of 2021 behind us as well. With all the craziness happening around us, the new normal doesn't look so good. In fact, it looks abnormal. And with all the peo...
