linux wine and other freeware op sys

#1 Post by BruceN »

Has anyone had any experience with running xbase apps on linux boxes? Is there a linux compiler or do you need to run a windows emulator (like i understand wine is - although the name apparently stands for 'Wine Is Not an Emulator).

I'm looking for a way to put together a very cheap box we can run our app on (and not pay mickeysfor for windows).

thanks

Hello,
an XP license costs about 19,-, so you can use Virtualbox or VMWare player. Vor VMware there are ready to use Linux host and Windows guest appliances .

by 19,-, I assume you mean either $19.00 or 19.00 Euros. Where can you get licenses for that price... and for how long will they be available?
