I am in so much shock over what happened in Minneapolis yesterday that I am still trying to figure out how to respond in a way that can send a message that I am no longer going to use passive resistance to this lawless government. I attended NO KINGS rallies, a Bernie Sanders OLIGARCHY rally and I am active in the Vietnam Veterans Against Trump Facebook group.
I supported closing the border and removing illegal immigrant criminals, but only if it were done according to the U.S. Constitution through legal means. It is clear that Trump enjoys playing the dictator, that he will never give in to political resistance and that he will suppress it even further.
What Trump does respond to is economic resistance. He backed off his Greenland threats as soon as the DOW plunged 500 points. The only way to make a difference now is to boycott any business that supports Trump’s lawless policies. I am a Tesla stock holder and I have been holding on to that stock with the expectation that FSD is going to make it skyrocket in the next few years. I bought the stock for my son so he will have something to count on as he gets close to retirement. Also, I had planned to buy a Tesla this year so I could use FSD to travel around the country. I am 82 years old and I figured that I may have 3 good years left, so I planned to safely drive around the country, with my son, and visit old friends and family, and take my son to places he has long wanted to go.
It will take a huge chunk of my savings to do this, but I thought that it would make a difference to my mental health and his mental health, if we stay active in this way. The murder of Alex Pretti yesterday, and how the people of America respond to this execution, and how businesses respond must now be factored into my decision. I had planned to visit a local Tesla dealer today, but that is not going to happen now. This purchase will not happen and I will not be travelling anywhere for the rest of the year. I feel that it is no longer safe to travel and that the movie “Civil War” may have been a good predictor of things to come.
I am realizing now that Trump is truly an evil man and that he wants to see the destruction of the American way of life. The only way to fight that now is to crash his economic ambitions and maybe our entire economy. I will be waiting out the next 10 months to see if America still has free elections and if there is any chance that Trump will be impeached and removed from office. After the midterms I will reevaluate whether I want to invest in America again.
American military personnel are not allowed to execute anyone, even during war. Perhaps a military occupation will provide more safety to protestors than these ICE and Border Agent criminals.
