If you have two sons, and they start fighting
That's a miserable comparison.

Russia and the Ukraine are no "sons that started fighting". Russia started trying to kill the Ukraine. If you have two sons and one tries to kill the other, whom will you lend a knife? And what do you think will happen to the son who is about to be killed if you force him to throw away his knife?

This sounds like Russia is speaking.
Best regards,
Tom

I'm pleased with the way Canada is responding to the tariffs.
The Japanese thought that America would sue for peace when they attacked Pearl Harbor.
I don't know what the hell Trump thought that Canada would do, but I hope that Trudeau's "Day of Infamy" speech isn't just words.

If this is war, then buckle up.

Tom :
That's what Trump says, not just Russia :)
We probably have different opinions on politics, but please let's not start a war here, where there has been a friendly atmosphere for many years, no matter where we are on the globe :)

let's not start a war here,
I'm talking about a tariff war, and those first salvos were fired by Trump to Canada, Mexico and China.
When I say "buckle up", I mean prepare for hardships and act accordingly.

we can all have our own opinion on it
It's okay to have an opinion about circumstances that aren't facts, but it's not okay to present facts as opinions. Unfortunately, that's exactly what's in fashion right now. When Macron was talking to The Orange President and corrected him, T.O.P. replied: "If you believe that." That's how it works - and what you are trying to say, with all due respect. But facts aren't an opinion. Russia started the war. Russia wants to eliminate a free, sovereign state. There are no brothers fighting. There is a killer and there is a victim. These are the facts. Maybe you believe the earth is flat or we all are the children of Adam and Eve. It's okay to believe that. But it's not an opinion. It is a belief that is contradicted by facts.
Best regards,
Tom

Trump is businessman, and he see only dollars ...
I remember when he was president before, he started a tariff war with China, now he's threatening tariffs everywhere, time will tell if it's just a dog barking behind a fence, but on the real street he'll wag his tail or he's serious. And if he's serious (Greenland, Canada), I think there are quite a few powerful people who won't let him do it.
At school we learned the principles of feudalism, imperialism, capitalism, socialism and communism. We were taught that capitalism can only function if production and profit are constantly growing, as soon as it stops growing, stagnation occurs, and then a decline and collapse can be expected. Common sense says that the economy cannot grow indefinitely, moreover, if someone wants it to grow exponentially, our country does not have the resources for that. Unfortunately, world powers have figured out that wars can trigger economic stagnation, unfortunately at the expense of destroyed countries and human victims.
