ECRi interface

#1 Post by BruceN »

Has anyone done an ECRi interface (elecronic cash register interface) for Chase Paymentech (to connect with a Veriphone VX510 or other device) ?

I have a customer who wants me to do one, but everytime I talk to someone at Chase I get a different story.

thanks,

bruce

Hello Bruce,

I did write ECR link sofwtare in Xbase++ to a Veriphone VX-570. I do not know if its the same protocol as Vx-510
It is based on Rs-232 two-step protocol.
The computer is connected via USB to port "RS232-1" .

I do not know how things are in the US, but here in the Netherlands you are not allowed to "just connect" to a bankcard terminal.
Here the software needs to be certified. The cashregister software in the terminal is only enabled by the supplier (usualy the bank) if verified that it wil connect to a certified cash register or certified cash register software.

If you want to talk about this, drop me a mail, or send me your skype name.
