DCBITMAP

#1 Post by RDalzell »

Hi All,

I am looking to display an image, then perform various DCGETS over specific areas of the image. Unfortunately, I cannot even get my image to display. I would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick -

I copied your .jpg file and program, compiled it and ran it.
Everything looks fine. The bitmap displays perfectly.

I tried it with build 254 and my most current.

If you have Teamviewer, give me a call.
I'll connect and see if I can help you figure this out.

Thanks Roger,

I was doing all the work on my brand new win/7 pro 64bit box (where it does not display), I copied the .exe to my Vista and Win/98 boxes and they work properly. Using xBase v1.90.331 and eXpress v254.

I will move development back to Vista box or try the Win/7 Virtual XP Mode.

Thanks,
Rick

I will try it on my Windows 7 computer. I have not yet had any problems with Windows 7.

Hi Jack,

I am using Alaska 1.90.331 not .335, could that be the issue?

Thanks,
Rick

If you are planning to run under Win 7 then you should really be using build 355.

on Alaska Website you can get a "Upgrade-Patch" for free.
start that "Upgrade-Patch" in Xbase++ "Root" Directory e.g. c:\ALASKA\XPPW32 on a "original" v1.9.331.

the "Upgrade-Patch" will produce a "no visual Style" Version which i prefer, but using Manifest you still have "visual Style"

do not forget to compile/link Express++ new and all your LIBs/Dlls before you recompile you Application

 ... but you also need v1.9.355 "hotfix" ... "lates" was No. 42
