Wonderful Windows 10

#1 Post by omni »

Roger,

Any time windows 10 does an update none of the alaska exe's (our apps) will open. Driving me crazy. I have to turn off my computer completely and after coming back on it works fine. Now some users with laptops (they go to sleep and do not actually turn off unless a user is instructed to do that) have the same issues. Ever heard of this..is there something in windows set up that can be done to alleviate?

I hate Windows 10 as much as you do.
I have experienced the same problems.

Try setting a minimum level in security policies. Maybe it will help?

are you talking about v1.9.355 ?
if yes look if you have a XppFatal.LOG in that dir.

if yes it might be PDR 6904 and there are different solution.
1.) if you have a active Subscription ask Alaska for Hotfix 51
2.) change Scaling / Driver Resolution e.g. with ScreenRES.DLL

ScreenRES.DLL must run as VIO App !
after run it you can start Xbase++ GUI App again.

Aware of log...Same error on anything, 1.9 and 2.0.

FATAL ERROR LOG
Not recoverable Error!
SYS Thread-ID: 984
Module: EH
Error Codes: EH: 900 Sub: 0(0) OS: 0 XPP: 0

System thread changes for 1.9, otherwise the same. This is from xdot, but all my apps to the same thing.

I just automatically restart anytime windows does an update and takes me to the login screen rather than fight it.

as i say PDR 6904

---

have you try other User (on same PC) :?:

i do have the Problem PDR 6904 with User "B" but not with "A" or "C" on same Windows 10 64bit :!:
btw. have not hear that someone with 32bit OS have that Problem.

it is recommend to look at your Grafic Driver. Windows Update only deliver M$ Driver so try AMD/Nvidea/Intel direct

---

if you have a active Subscription you can ask Alaska for v1.9.355 Hotfix 51 / latest v2.x

for me ScreenRES.DLL does work but i have to use it every Month after got M$ Windows 10 Update.
