Activex open office

#1 Post by Victorio »

Hi,
Does anyone use Open office with Active X ? Works it ?

I am using MS Word with activex modifying, but now, I am thinking about fact ,that no every user have MS Office installed. Then my app can not full work. Because, need some system to detect if not installed word, then use other software.
So also Open office may not installed on user PC.

I know, can use full active X support (Active X TX control or other), but this need some time to buy it, learn how work it. etc.

Open Office is OUT
now it called LibreOffice https://www.libreoffice.org/ ... but it still seems to work

as you get no Answer in Express++ Forum try search in Alaska Newsgroup for it
or look into German Xbase-Forum http://www.xbaseforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=847

you not real pay for Software ... you pay for Support :-)

how much Time you spend on searching for M$ Word COM Documentation / Xbase++ Sample ?
how do you think to get LibreOffice COM Documentation / Xbase++ Sample to learn ?

there is a Demo Version of TX-Control and it does work with Xbase++ ... try it :!:
i knew some (Express++) User who use TX-Control and was told that Support is good.

so it is a Question of Time (or Money) until you can present it to your Customer.

Jimmy, thank you for advice
yes, I saw Libreoffice, and other free editors, but problem can be with documentation and suppor.
Active TX control is important, maybe this is best solution to my use.
Now I can only notice user about technical requerements and one from it is MS Word installed ;)
I hope majority my potential users have installed it.

Problem with M$ : next Office 2019 will be a Cloud Version and have no MAPI or COM Interface.
