Hi,

In the last newsletter I got from Alaska Software, they mentioned the speed problem of Xbase++ applications and others on Windows 11. According to the text was Microsoft aware of the problem and was there a solution promised for the 22H2 update.

It seems as this is available and can be installed.

Is someone likes the adventure and has a Windows 11 to try this...

Jimmy,

This is the text, they don't mention WEBUI.
// Windows 11, the UI nightmare …

In our November 2021 newsletter, we stated that we have not been able to identify any shortcomings or incompatibilities with Windows 11. Unfortunately, more and more Windows users with larger GUI applications complain about sluggish UI behavior. This is true for Xbase++, Delphi, .NET or old MFC Windows C/C++ applications. The definite root cause is still unknown.
Microsoft has already stated that they are focusing on Windows 11 UI performance issues and plan to release a resolution with the 22H2 update, which means an update shall be available in autumn 2022.

hi Chris,

have you read Link at End of Message :?:
On Feedback Hub and social media platforms, users complained of performance issues when using WinUI or XAML UI elements in Windows 11.
they talk about WebUI which have nothing to do with (slow) GDI32 with Alaska use.

but try it yourself if it make a Difference on your Xbase++ App, Windows DEV Version already have it

WINUI, WINUI. The problem generally occurs with standard Windows components and controls created with the standard API.

The WebUI has nothing to do with the performance loss at dialog building and refreshing you are facing with Windows 11. Besides, there is still nothing as a WebUI in Xbase++ yet.

hi Tom,

Consumer will now get Release which DEV Insider have since 1/2 Year and you can "test" if your Xbase++ App will be "faster" ...

to talk about Alaska WebUI is useless until you got it ...
