make exe that does not require dll
Is it possible to make a EXE file that does not require DLL files? It sounds stupid, but I´m tired of copying all the DLL in a folder to use a simple utility EXE file. That would be nice to be able to include all the DLL needed into the EXE file.
Thanks
Alexandre

Re: Detecting disksize
I found out that XBTBASE.DLL and all functions related to it is part of XBTOOLS III that must be installed separately. Some interesting functions like Serial ports Disk related Printers In the help file of xbase++ if you see on the bottom the reference to XBTBASE.DLL it has to do with XBTOOLS III. Y...

disk select
Is there a way to select a disk in the same way we can select a printer using the windows registered printers.
I need to do a backup and would like to ask the user to select on witch disk the backup should be, using windows file explorer.
Thank you,
Alexandre

Re: USE SHARED EXCLUSIVE SLOW ON NETWORK
I was very surprised to see that the anti-virus had this behavior on a DBF file. This is what I know. It does not matter what type of anti-virus is on the server/master shared folder side. It matters only on the client side. Tests were done with Windows XP pro Windows 7 pro Windows 10 pro Windows 20...

Re: USE SHARED EXCLUSIVE SLOW ON NETWORK
Guys, thank you. I ran some tests and the problem was caused by Kaspersky anti-virus version 10. I made the tests with Windows 10 with Defender, Windows 7 with kaspersky and Windows XP with no anti-virus. I found out that XP and Windows 10 was ok. Windows 7 was causing the problem. By removing the K...

USE SHARED EXCLUSIVE SLOW ON NETWORK
When I have a DBF file opened on a network in SHARED mode, if another computer tries to open the same file in SHARED mode all actions like LOCATE, COPY, INDEX, anything that looks at all records are very very slow. Something like 0.34 seconds, goes to 9.00 seconds. This is a very bug difference. I t...

Re: Share your findings with eXpress++ and Xbase++
If you need to know what files (DBF) are locked on a network or local machine, this nice little tools shows all DBF files that are locked. It´s called Process Explorer It´s from Microsoft, FREE part of Windows sysinternals https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processexplorer.aspx Downloa...
