Cliff Wiernik

#1 Post by rdonnay »

I am sad to announce that Cliff Wiernik passed away last night in his sleep after more than half-year fight with cancer.

Cliff had been a member of our eXpress++ community since 1999 and had attended every Xbase++ and eXpress++ event in America and also some events in Europe.

He will be missed.
The eXpress train is coming - and it has more cars.

In receiving the news of Cliff's passing this morning from his wife Ann, I'm reminded of my first day with Aqua Finance, May 19, 2014.

After I was able to setup my desk and access my computer, Cliff was showing FCA and said, while a smile on his face and somewhat tounge-in-cheek, "I'm the boss--don't forget that." Of course he was kidding, but on your first day, you don't question things.

He and I got to know each other well and there's not a day that goes by that I don't miss him. What he was able to accomplish in FCA for Aqua Finance is his legacy, but it pales in comparison to the overall nice guy that he was--fun to be around and always cracking a joke.

I'll share the arrangements as soon as we are made aware of them.

Sad news.

I have met Cliff during an eXpress+ devcon in 2007. He was very helpfull and was sharing his knowledge with a smile.

He will be missed in our little community.

My condolences to his family.
Best regards,

Chris.

"No."
