An analysis of the Trump revolution

I think it's interesting when Republican leaders and pundits like Rush Limbaugh are asked why the establishment is losing to Trump.
They always have the same answer:
"The voters are angry because of the failed leadership of the Obama administration".

Really? Is that the reason?

Have they not yet accepted the fact that Trump is an Independent who has hijacked the party?
The Republican party was originally hijacked by Limbaugh nearly 3 decades ago.

The party did it to themselves by playing the same old tune for nearly 3 decades.

“Climate change is a hoax,
Liberals are evil,
Abortion is evil,
Taxes are evil,
The EPA is evil,
The Department of Education is evil,
Labor unions are evil,
Minimum wage is evil,
The military needs more money,
Reagan saved the world,
Gays are an abomination,
Guns are our birthright,
God is an American,
I am a Christian,
I am a Conservative,
La, la, la”

People eventually get tired of the same old tune,
Clinton changed the Democrats tune just in time to save the Democratic party.
It’s too late for the Republicans.
It’s also too late for Rush Limbaugh. He wrote the tune, and the Republican party liked it.

Trump is singing his own tune while Republicans are whistling past the graveyard.

Actually the answer given most of the time in addition the failed leadership of the current administration is the failure of the establishment republicans to do what they promised to do and were elected to do. We can discuss and disagree all day over what should be done or we want to have done. We all have our points of view. But just like our business relationships, if we fail to do what we promise to do, our customers (or in this case the voters) will get upset.

Politicians have failed to do what they promised because they are promises that cannot be fulfilled by anyone.

1. Abortion - already settled by the Supreme Court.
2. Gay marriage - already settled by the Supreme Court
3. Taxes - a necessity whether you like it or not
4. Immigration - Impossible to deport 11 million people
5. Balanced budget - too complicated a task without give and take
6. Middle East peace - Yeah! Right!
7. Abolish EPA - That will never happen
8. Obamacare - They tried, and tried, and tried and it will still not be repealed even with a Republican president and congress.
9. Social Security - The people like it
10. Medicare - The people like it
11. Fix corruption - Yeah! Right!
12. Bring back jobs - What jobs? They are gone forever because of technology.

The U.S. economy is like a large ocean liner with a small rudder.
Americans want big changes without sacrifices and that is impossible.

Presidential candidates should stop making promises and just provide leadership.
