I have received quite a few requests to have another eXpress++ Devcon this year.

I have a lot to show and talk about since the last one in September, 2008.

I propose we have another in September, 2010 here in Boise again.
The weather is always perfect here in September.

Please let me know if you are interested.
I will need at least 20 attendees to get a good rate at the hotel for meals, meeting room and rooms.

Hi

Why not in South Africa, Bloemfontein in the Free State, to be more specific.

At R 7.50 to the $1.00 it can only be a bargain.

Just think about it????!!!

Regards all

Sounds like a good idea. Why not in Cape Town, South Africa.

I was invited to speak at a Devcon in South Africa in 1991 organized by The Clipper Expert Group.
There were 350 attendees.

It was a huge success, but the airline fare was $7800, due to the Apartheid embargo.
It was a very memorable experience, with trips to East Transvaal and Kruger National Park.

It would be nice to see an Alaska Software conference down there, but someone would need to organize it.
I doubt that anyone could gather hundreds of Xbase++ programmers together to make it a success.

Roger, you can add me to the list. Looking forward to learning a lot of new things again this conference.

I do not know how many South Africans use xBase++, I am sure Alaska will be able to give that info to us.
I have seen in the news groups and the membership list at eXpress++ that you have users in SA and in the rest of Africa.
There are a few guys in Johannesburg/Pretoria that might be able to help to arrange an International Devcon in SA.
