spell checking

#1 Post by bwolfsohn »

We've been using kl_spell for years (decades) now. Recently, we've been getting some requests for real-time spell checking like all the "real windows" applications have..

Roger, have you or anyone else tried to integrate real-time spell checking from word ( or wordperfect or wordstar  )

I incorporated ChadoSpell in an app for Bobby Drakos.

There's a sample in \exp19\samples\chado.

There's also another sample under \exp19\samples\activex.
The eXpress train is coming - and it has more cars.

Brian,

I dug out my original MicroPro WordStar disks, but I do not have an 8" Drive to read them since the drives on my Xerow 820 computer died a few years ago. I guess you will need to find another solution. (The WordStar, and CalcStar disks came as a set from a prize package I won at the 1983 Comdex show in Las Vegas.)

Actually, I don't think WordStar version 3.3 had real time spell check.

That's why i don't want to go down the chadospell road.. i'm looking for a more mainline solution, not something that looks like another niche of a niche product.

Terry, i don't think wordstar had real time checking anyway...

Unless real-time is that point in time where you insert the punchcards into the punchcard reader.. :)

Feeling a bit nostalgic this morning, Terry?

I have a SuperCalc disk from 1982. That product was bought by CA. :text-bump:
