Errors

#1 Post by omni »

We have one user, about 15 years, only 5-10 users, that started getting odd errors recently, unsure exactly when, but within last 6 months. 2.0, not ads. The errors are operating system errors when (1). zapping a file and (2) same when overwriting a file, or sometimes creating a new file. Normal network, a couple of 'accounting ' users. Updating dbf files not an issue, just writing.

Our suggestion is that it is related to a virus scan or some other similar issue on their windows server.

Just wondering if anybody else has seen this, or come up with a better resolution. Not our issue, no updates to them since 2020.

Their hardware guy is in denial, of course. feel sorry for them, but not sure what else to do.

In the past we have run across single users with this issue in a larger network, and their work station being replaced has resolved it.

Most likely Virus related. I had similar issue a few years back and it was Kaspersky denying access to certain file writing tasks. You need to add the file directory
to the 'exclusions' list .
