I had a very simple task to do for a customer and had no time available to learn everything you think I should learn.

The task was completed and the customer was happy.
If he gives me more complicated issues to deal with then I will invest the time.

I have learned, from working with this customer for 20 years, that the more time I spend on a solution, the less likely it will be used.

Thank you for your suggestions.

It seems that it was wrong to give you a solution for something you have asked for. I will never do that again, sorry if I upset you. Its nice that you finished your task.

sorry if I upset you
You did not upset me.
On the contrary, I very much appreciated your suggestions, however I didn't have any more time to invest in this project.

I will use your inputs as soon as I have more time to digest them.
Currently, I am dealing more with SMS issues than with email issues for this client, but I'm sure that they will want better email solutions in the future.
